Who this covers

SchoolYug is software for schools. The data inside it belongs to the school — we hold and process it on the school’s behalf, not for our own purposes. Students and parents have their relationship with their school, so a request about that data should go to the school first, and we will help the school act on it.

What data is in the system

Whatever the school enters. Across the 51 modules, that typically means:

  • Student and guardian details — name, date of birth, address, phone, email, photograph
  • Attendance, leave and hostel records
  • Fees, challans, receipts and other charges
  • Homework, syllabus progress, exam marks and report cards
  • Health information, if the school uses the infirmary module
  • Bus routes and stops, if the school uses transport
  • Staff records, leave and payroll details
  • Messages, circulars and the log of SMS that were sent

We do not collect anything beyond this on our own account. There are no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics that identify an individual.

Who can see it

Everyone sees only their own part of the school, and that follows from the structure rather than a setting. A teacher sees their own classes and sections; a parent sees their own child; an accountant sees fees and not marks. Each school’s data is kept separate — one school cannot reach another’s under any circumstances.

On our side, someone looks at a school’s data only when the school asks us to help with a problem, or when the law requires it.

What we do with it

We run the service with it. We do not sell or rent a school’s data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models.

If a school sends SMS or email, the message and the recipient’s number or address pass to the telecom or email provider that delivers it — a message cannot be sent otherwise.

How long it is kept

For as long as the school’s account is active. Past sessions are kept on purpose — report cards, fee records and transfer certificates are needed years later.

When a school ends the service, we will export and hand over its data on request, and then delete it.

Children’s data

Most of the people in this system are children. Their accounts are created by the school, not by us, and we never ask a child for information directly. A parent who wants a child’s data corrected or removed should ask the school; when the school asks us, we act on it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and schools are told about anything significant. For any question, write to us: hello@schoolyug.in — SchoolYug, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
